GOUVERNEUR -- E. J. Noble Hospital will be closing its health center in Harrisville now that their application to the New York State Department of Health to do so has been approved.
The center will close permanently on July 25, according to the hospital’s announcement Friday.
All patient records will be relocated to the main E. J. Noble Hospital building at 77 W. Barney St. in Gouverneur.
In letters sent to patients notifying them of the closure, they were offered the opportunity to have their records transferred to a different provider. Patients may make the request by completing a form from the Medical Records Office at the hospital. To request a form, patients should call 535-9336.
E. J. Noble Hospital leadership made the decision to close the health center due to a declining number of patient visits over several months and following Lewis County General Hospital’s opening of its health center, which is expected to serve the needs of Harrisville residents.
Dr. Gerald L. Calabrese, the physician serving the Harrisville center, will see patients at the Antwerp Health Center, 6 Lexington Ave. in Antwerp. People may reach the clinic by calling 659-8993.
