EDWARDS -- St. Lawrence County Sheriff deputies say they charged an Edwards man with six counts following an alleged "physical dispute with his girlfriend" where he allegedly assaulted, choked and held her against her will early on Friday morning.
William W. Church, 33, of 1001 River Road is charged with third-degree assault, obstruction of breathing, third-degree menacing, second-degree unlawful imprisonment and two counts of endagering the welfare of a child, deputies said. All are misdemeanors.
Deputies further allege the incident happened in front of two children.
Church was arraigned in Fowler Town Court by Justice Paul Lamson and remanded to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility, Canton, in lieu of $2,500 bail, deputies said. he is re-appear in Edwards Town Court on May 5, according to the sheriff's office.
