RUSSELL – The student body at Edwards-Knox Central School is honoring community heroes Friday, Jan. 27 with an assembly and reception at the school.
This project started in November when students in grades 7-12 nominated a hero they had in their lives.
The nominations were collected and a group of five teachers read through them, voted, and chose the 2012 Edwards-Knox Heroes.
This is the first year that the school has done this.
Senator Patty Ritchie was interested in attending, but can't make it this year.
The assembly is at 10:45 a.m. with a reception for the heroes, and the students who nominated them, at 10:15.
