Fire departments around St. Lawrence County will open their doors to the public as part of the Firemen’s Association of the State of New York’s (FASNY) fifth Recruit NY weekend.
Participating departments include Edwards, Hermon, Hopkinton-Fort Jackson, Norfolk, Norwood and Russell.
Recruit NY is aimed at getting people to become volunteer firefighters. FASNY says volunteer departments are losing members “due to a variety of factors.”
