Dry weather returns to North Country; highs in 70s, lows in 50s expected all week

Dry weather returns to all areas of the North Country this week with plenty of sunshine and high temperatures right around normal for this time of year, according to the National Weather Service forecast..

Winds will be from the southwest to west for the next couple of days, increasing in intensity tomorrow and tomorrow night, when gusts could top 20 mph.

For the rest of the week: clear skies, highs in the upper 70s to low 80s, overnight lows generally in the mid 50s.

The NWS forecast for the St. Lawrence valley and the northwestern Adirondacks:

This Afternoon: Mostly sunny, with a high near 76. West wind around 8 mph.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 53. Light southwest wind.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 75. Light southwest wind becoming west 5 to 10 mph in the morning.

Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 55. Southwest wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening. Winds could gust as high as 21 mph.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 78. Light south wind becoming west 6 to 11 mph in the morning.

Wednesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 55.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 81.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 58.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 79.
