Dry warm weather through middle of week in North Country

The National Weather Service says dry weather and warm temperatures are expected through the middle of the week as high pressure builds over the northeast.

Temperatures will be a few degrees higher than normal. The next chance of precipitation will be Thursday afternoon and evening, says the service.

Today will be sunny with highs in the lower 80s and winds from the west at 10 mph. Tonight will be clear with lows in the mid 50s.

The NWS forecast for the week is as follows.

Tuesday: Sunny. Highs in the lower 80s. Southwest winds 10 to 15 mph.

Tuesday Night: Clear. Lows in the lower 60s. Southwest winds around 10 mph.

Wednesday: Sunny. Highs in the mid 80s. Southwest winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.

Wednesday Night: Clear. Lows in the mid 60s.

Thursday: Partly sunny with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs in the lower 80s. Chance of rain 30 percent.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy with a chance of showers. Lows in the upper 50s. Chance of rain 50 percent.

Friday And Friday Night: Mostly clear. Highs in the upper 70s. Lows in the upper 50s.

Saturday Through Sunday: Clear. Highs in the upper 70s. Lows in the upper 50s.
