Motorist in Potsdam facing drug charges

POTSDAM -- A Depew woman was held by state police on drug and vehicle charges after she was stopped on Rt. 11 early today.

Police say they charged Gayle Tate, 52, with four misdemeanors and an infraction after they stopped her at 2:20 a.m. today.

The charges are first-degree operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, possession of a hypodermic instrument, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, and failure to keep right.

At last report she was being held in custody by state police.
