Dress warmly: Wind chills in North Country could reach down to -35 tonight, Wednesday
St. Lawrence County residents should dress appropriately and limit areas of exposed skin when venturing outside tonight and tomorrow as wind chills are expected to drop as low as -35 degrees.
A wind chill warning is in effect across the North Country from 9 p.m. this evening until 7 p.m. Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.Wind chills as low as 30 to 35 below are expected tonight and early Wednesday due to the combination of below zero temperatures and northwest winds of 10 to 15 mph through much of the period.
Wind chill readings will range from 20 to 30 below during the late morning through afternoon hours Wednesday.
Anyone venturing out is advised to wear a warm coat, gloves and cover exposed skin to protect against frostbite and hypothermia.
Dressing in layers can also help protect against the cold.
People are advised to Limit time outdoors if possible.
