CANTON -- A draft of the Grasse River Blueway Trail Plan is available for public review on the Canton website, cantonny.gov.
The plan features a detailed description of the river and the surrounding communities and assets along its corridor. The draft plan outlines numerous development projects to enhance the natural potential of the river as a tourism destination, including installation of a whitewater play park, re-use of the historic Harrison grist mill, new trail system in Sodom State Forest, portage locations and a horse trail system.
A public workshop was held at the end of April to present the plan.
The public is invited to comment on the plan through the Canton website. Comments are due by Monday, June 25.
