POTSDAM -- Beginning at 6 a.m. Thursday, July 8 and continuing through midnight on Saturday July 10, the southernmost block of Market Street will be closed to traffic for the event.
Chamber Executive Director Marylee Ballou is asking residents not to park on the street along that block Wednesday evening, July 8.
Ballou said that in past years there were cars parked in the cordoned off section that had to be towed, for a fee, so that the main stage could be assembled and vendors could set up. Overnight parking is available in lots on Beal, Main, and Raymond Streets.
The Chamber also would like to remind people that that section of Market Street is for pedestrian use only during the three-day festival, and not for bicycles or skateboards, a rule which will be enforced.
