GOUVERNEUR -- Advance work on the state Department of Transportation’s Gouverneur Village Reconstruction Project is expected to begin on or about June 3.
Advance work includes survey, saw cutting and digging test holes in preparation for the water line installation, expected to begin the week of June 10.
The $9 million project, which will include storm sewers and reconstruction of 1.2 miles of U.S. Rt. 11 from Route 58 to the eastern edge of the village.
Two message boards have been set up to alert motorists to the work.
Traffic will be controlled with flaggers.
Motorists should expect delays, DOT said.
The total job is expected to be done by December 2014.
