MASSENA -- The intersection at state Route 37C and Rooseveltown Road will not be realigned as originally hoped, according to Town Supervisor Joseph Gray.
“It has come down from a higher level from DOT (state Department of Transportation) that the work will not be performed,” Gray said. “No decision of ours, certainly not with acquiescence or agreement from the town.”
He said the DOT review when considering such projects includes looking at the history of accidents and fatalities at the area in question.
“They can’t justify spending the money,” Gray said.
