‘White Wings’ by Frederic Remington
OGDENSBURG -- The Frederic Remington Art Museum is starting the year off with a new acquisition.
Donors Allan P. Newell and the Kingsley Family of Hammond gave the museum the money to buy “White Wings,” an ink wash on paper that has been on loan but is now part of the museum’s permanent collection.
“The ink wash on paper ties together some of Frederic Remington's most loved places, the Canton [and] St. Lawrence University community, the 1,000 Islands and of course Ogdensburg,” the museum said in a prepared statement.
The piece measures 15-inches-by-16-inches and was done in 1893, the museum said.
The museum is at 303 Washington St.
