OGDENSBURG -- St. Lawrence Federal Credit Union recently donated $1,000 to St. Joseph’s Home, which will be awarded as first prize for their Golf Ball Drop this month.
St. Joseph's Home will host the event on Aug. 16 at 1 p.m. at Father Martin Field.
They will drop up to 2,000 numbered golf balls from Frank Richardson’s helicopter onto the field.
The numbers correspond to tickets which can be purchased for $5 each.
The ball closest to the hole wins 1st prize of $1,000. Second closest receives $200 and third closest receives $100.
Ticketholders need not be present to win.
Tickets can be purchased at St. Joseph’s Home and from its board members and staff or from team members who will be set up at Kinney Drugs and WalMart on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 to 6 p.m.
