Three new television ads attacking Rep. Bill Owens are being released by the campaign of his Republican challenger and by a business lobbying group.
The Doheny for Congress campaign has released two new 30-second television ads, titled “Hurting Seniors” and “He’ll Do Anything,” “to highlight Bill Owens’ record of putting himself before his constituents,” a statement from the Doheny campaign said.
“My opponent will do and say anything to stay in Congress, including lie about my successful record of protecting tens of thousand American jobs,” said Matt Doheny, the Republican, Conservative and Independence parties’ candidate in the 21st district.
The ads can be seen at Doheny’s web site, http://doheny4congress.com/.
Meanwhile the national business lobbying group the U.S. Chamber of Commerce is launching what they are inexplicably calling a “grassroots campaign” in the 21st Congressional District, leading with another television ad with the same themes of taxes, health care and government spending as the Doheny campaign’s ads.
The U.S. Chamber said they are targeting six congressional districts in New York, including the 21st.
“New York will be key in determining a pro-business majority in the House of Representatives,” said Rob Engstrom, the group’s senior vice president and national political director.
