POTSDAM – The staff at the Potsdam Humane Society’s Potsdam Animal Shelter say they love Baron von Willie, a nearly three-year-old dog, but they want him to have a real home.
His is a special case. He came to the shelter as one in a litter of pups, and was twice adopted and twice returned to the shelter after the adult humans in both adoptive families divorced. The staff say he is doing fine, but he has been at the shelter for 628 days, and they think he is more than ready for a loving home.
“We need to bring the public's attention to him because he is a great dog -- playful and wonderful with people of all ages,” said Bonnie Boyd of the Potsdam Humane Society.
The adoption fee has already been paid, so he’s ready to go, Boyd says.
The staff think he would probably do better with a family that did not have cats. He responds to standard commands like “sit” and “stay” and “roll over.”
Baron and others ready for adoption can be visited on line at www.potsdamhumanesociety.org, or better yet, in person at 17 Madrid Ave. Phone 265 3199.
