Doctor of osteopathic medicine begins practice in Gouverneur

GOUVERNEUR -- Dr. Debra Meness, a doctor of osteopathic medicine, will join the staff of Community Health Center of the North Country (CHCNC) at their Gouverneur practice, effective Feb. 2.

Meness received her doctor of osteopathy degree at the University of New England College of Osteopathy Medicine in 1999.

Meness has held positions at numerous family medicine practices across the country. Her latest position was at MASH Urgent Care outside of Buffalo in Orchard Park. She has also practiced at Sage Memorial Hospital in Arizona, and the Seneca Nation Health Department in Salamanca and Cattaraugus. She also served as medical director at Cass Lake Indian Health Services Hospital in Minnesota.

She joins a medical team that includes pediatrician Donald Shuessler, Jr., physician assistant Kelsey Tatone, Dr. Teresa Dombek-Lang, physician assistant Katharine Matthis, and family nurse practitioner Rachel Raven.

Meness is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, the American Academy of Family Practice, and is a National Health Service Corps recipient.
