STOCKHOLM -- A Gouverneur man was charged with possession of a stun gun, drug possession and driving while ability impaired by drugs following a report of a vehicle off the road on county Route54 Monday, according to St. Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies.

Robert R. LaRock Jr., 35, was charged with DWAI: drugs, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, felony, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and possession of a hypodermic instrument, deputies said.

Deputies responded to a report of a vehicle off the roadway and say LaRock, allegedly the driver,  was under the influence of drugs.

Officers reportedly searched the vehicle and found a hypodermic needle, a spoon with a substance that tested positive for MDMA, a stun gun, marijuana and other drug paraphernalia.

Deputies also discovered that the license plates, not that vehicle, were stolen.

The vehicle was not registered or insured and LaRock was driving on a suspended license, officers said.

He was additionally charged with unlicensed operation, unregistered motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, improper plates, open alcoholic container in vehicle, failure to keep right, unlawful possession of marijuana and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, officers said.

LaRock was arraigned in Stockholm court and released under the supervision of probation, deputies said.
