CANTON — A man was arrested Tuesday for impaired driving after crashing his into a fence and mailbox on Eddy-Pyrites Road, according to St. Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies.
Garry G. Thompson, 34, Watertown, was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs and speed not reasonable or prudent, officers said.
The charge is a felony because Thompson has a previous conviction for a DWI in the last 10 years, deputies said.
Thompson provided a blood sample but results were not yet available, officers said.
The accident took place Tuesday morning.
Thompson was released on appearance tickets returnable to Canton court at a later date.
