CANTON -- SUNY Canton recently raised more than $1,000 to benefit St. Lawrence Valley Renewal House.

The college held a Denim Day event encouraging faculty, staff and administration to make a donation and wear jeans to work on April 29. The nationally recognized Denim Day is a symbolic gesture of how a community can help change perceptions about violence against women, men and children.

In addition, residence assistants and resident directors from SUNY Canton’s five residence halls volunteered to let students douse them with paint and glitter for an innovative and messy fundraiser.
