DEKALB -- St. Lawrence County Sheriff's deputies said they responded to an accident early today on State Highway 812 that led to an aggravated driving while intoxicated charge for Richville man.
Todd A. Flanagan, 140 Jenkins Rd., was charged with aggravated DWI after providing a breath sample of .21 percent, more than two and a half times the .08 percent threshold for a DWI charge, said deputies.
Police said they located a 2006 Chevy Cobalt which had gone off the right side of the road and struck a tree.
Flanagan was found at the scene and told police he swerved to miss a deer and was not injured.
He is scheduled to appear in court at a later date, said police.
Deputies were assisted at the scene by the U.S. Border Patrol.
