DEKALB -- A town resident was charged with failure to provide proper sustenance to animals after allegedly leaving 10 cows and two horses without food and water on Monday.
John C. Trombley, 31, of County Rte. 18 was charged Monday evening, deputies said.
The sheriff’s office says they received complaints that Trombley wasn’t properly caring for the animals on Monday, when temperatures were around 90 degrees.
Citizens contacted a local fire department to provide water to the animals, deputies said.
Trombley was released with an appearance for DeKalb Town Court, deputies said.
The charge is a violation of state ag and markets law, according to the sheriff's office.
