CANTON – Slippery road conditions and unsafe speed caused an accident that killed a DeKalb Junction man Saturday afternoon on U.S. Highway 11, according to Gouverneur-based state police.
Troopers say Glen R. Alexander, 72, was travelling south on U.S. 11 in a Jeep Cherokee near DeKalb Junction when he lost control of his vehicle causing it to exit the roadway and roll down an embankment where he was ejected from his vehicle.
Police say he was pronounced dead at the scene by Dr. Richard Turin at 12:50 p.m.
