STOCKHOLM – A DeKalb Junction man was charged Aug. 2 for signing a lease agreement for a rental property under another person’s name in an attempt to avoid an order of protection against his girlfriend, according to St. Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies.
Keith J. McCauley, 29, was charged with second-degree criminal impersonation and second-degree criminal contempt, officers said.
Deputies said following an investigation they discovered that McCauley had signed a lease on July 2 using a known associates name instead of his own.
The lease was reportedly for a rental of property at 36 Porter Lynch Road.
McCauley and his girlfriend, Larissa M. Carlin, 25, both moved into the residence event though there is a stay-away order of protection between the two, deputies said.
McCauley was issued appearance tickets and released to appear in Stockholm court Sept 16 at 6 p.m.
Carlin was charged Aug. 14 for her involvement as well as drug charges. To read about her arrest, see story.
