Dairy Princess contenders from Madrid, DeKalb in pageant in Madrid April 25

St. Lawrence County girls from Madrid and DeKalb will compete for the title of Dairy Princess, while five others are seeking the Dairy Princess ambassador title.

Paige Moulton, daughter of Amy and Bernie Moulton of Madrid, and Megan Parkman, Julie and Eric of Dekalb Junction are hoping to be the next dairy princess.

Moulton attends Madrid-Waddington Central School and is involved in 4-H, FFA, Holstein Club, softball, Honor Society, yearbook and drama club. She plans to attend college for either special education or agri-business management.

Parkman is a junior at Canton Central School. She participates in 4-H dairy cattle showing is President of Canton FFA chapter and was the 2014 SLC Maple Queen and NYS second alternate. She plans to attend college concentrating on marketing and agriculture.

Dairy Princess Ambassador candidates include:

• Camryn Chester, daughter of Amy and Allen, of Lisbon. She is in 8th grade at MWCS and is active in 4-H, Jr Holstein Club, Jr. FFA, soccer, basketball, and lacrosse.

• Hannah Grant, daughter of Chris and Charlie, of Madrid. She is a MWCS sophomore on High Honor Roll, active in Madrid Fire Explorers, 4-H, and employed at Mapleview Dairy.

• Chloe Renaud, daughter of Gouverneur, Brooke and Elliot Bush/Derek Renaud. She is in 8th grad at GCS, active in 4-H, FFA, Jr. Holstein club, figure skating, and marching band.

• Isabell Smith, daughter of Amanda Miller of Massena, grandparents Sheila and Tom Smith of Madrid. She attends JW Leary Jr. High, on the honor roll and active in soccer, basketball, softball, band and chorus.

• Hailey Villnave, of Norfolk, daughter of Jennie and Travis Villnave and Chrissy Burdett. She attends NNCS Jr. High. This will be Hailey's 5th year at 4H camp and she is taking the councilor training course this summer. She is in Sr. Jazz at Tap to Toe Dance Studio, she plays soccer for NNCS, she is on honor roll and was just elected for student of the Quarter!

The pageant is will be April 25 Cow Tail at 6 p.m. with dinner at 7 p.m. at the Madrid Community Building. Menu includes: Ham, mac & cheese, ziti, corn, salad, roll, brownies and ice cream for dessert. Make reservations with Amy Chester at 322-5548. Adults $15, children under 12 $10.
