MASSENA – A new tribal liaison officer for the Massena Port of Entry has been appointed by U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s Buffalo Field Office.
Supervisory CBP Officer Tracy Casey is promoted from her supervisor position, which she attained in 2008.
Casey began her career with the U.S. Customs Service in 2002 as an inspector in Massena. In 2003, she became a Customs and Border Protection officer within the newly formed Department of Homeland Security. She was promoted to her current position as supervisory officer in 2008 and performs numerous duties and responsibilities with CBP in administrative and operational functions, such as cargo supervisor, scheduling, training and national recruiter.
“U.S. Customs and Border Protection understands the importance of transparency, open communication and maintaining an excellent working relationship with the Akwesasne community and its Tribal leaders,” said Port Director Robert Dwyer. “With her professionalism and expertise, Supervisor Casey will help build on an already strong relationship with the Tribe.”
“As a lifelong resident of Massena, I understand the complexities and challenges that our local communities face,” said Casey. “I look forward to taking on the position of tribal liaison and will work diligently with the tribal leaders and members of the Akwesasne communities.”
