CANTON -- The Cure-iers are continuing their campaign of education and fundraising for type 1 diabetes.
Devin Sterling Edward, 17, received his second Golden Sneaker award from Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in two years for his work on behalf of people like him with type 1 diabetes.
Assistant Manager Jay Measheaw of Monroe Muffler in Canton is selling the JDRF paper sneakers, raising funds for the foundation. He is inspired by the Cure-iers in Canton and by the one employee and the child of another employee at Monroe with diabetes.
The Cure-iers want everyone to know the symptoms of type 1 diabetes: excessive hunger or thirst, excessive urination, loss of energy, unexpected loss of weight, blurry vision.
They recommend that if you or a loved one experience these symptoms to call your health provider.
If you would like to know more or help in any way, contact Rose Edward at thecure-iers@live.com.
