CRANBERRY LAKE – The best-selling author of Adirondack fiction, Matthew J. Glavin of Cranberry Lake, has died after a long illness. Glavin was 62 years old.
Glavin, the author of the Adirondack Treasure novels, started writing just four years ago and published his first book, Adirondack Treasure – The Bonaparte Legacy in 2012. The book quickly hit the best-sellers’ list for upstate New York, and remains there to this day.
In March 2014, Glavin released his second book, Adirondack Treasure – Isle Royale, with co-author Michael J. Dolan. Isle Royale hit the best-sellers’ list within months of publication. In 2014, the Adirondack Treasure books were the top two selling novels in New York State. Glavin was working on his third novel with Dolan when he passed away.
Glavin was a proud member of the Cranberry Lake Volunteer Fire Department and was the recipient of their Volunteer of the Year award in 2014.
Glavin was born July 15, 1953 in Syracuse.
A memorial service is planned for later in the year, on a date to be announced later.
His books are available at local book stores and from Amazon.
