Could it be true?

After a long, wet summer in St. Lawrence County, the National Weather Service is forecasting sunny, clear skies with highs in the 70s for the next seven days starting Thursday.

While there is a chance of showers early this evening, clear, dry conditions are predicted for the next week.

The weather service seven-day forecast for central St. Lawrence County follows:

• Tonight -- A 30 percent chance of showers, mainly before 9 p.m. Partly cloudy, with a low around 56. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light west after midnight. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

• Thursday -- Partly sunny, with a high near 68. West wind around 6 mph.

• Thursday Night -- Partly cloudy, with a low around 52. Northwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

• Friday -- Mostly sunny, with a high near 70. Calm wind becoming northwest 5 to 9 mph in the morning.

• Friday Night -- Mostly clear, with a low around 50. Light and variable wind.

• Saturday -- Sunny, with a high near 73. Calm wind becoming northwest around 5 mph in the afternoon.

• Saturday Night -- Mostly clear, with a low around 51. Calm wind.

• Sunday -- Mostly sunny, with a high near 74. Light northeast wind.

• Sunday Night -- Mostly clear, with a low around 52. Light southeast wind.

• Monday -- Sunny, with a high near 76. Light northeast wind.

• Monday Night -- Mostly clear, with a low around 55. Light and variable wind.
