OGDENSBURG – Cornell University is conducting a survey to determine the impact of high water levels on the St. Lawrence River is having on properties.
Towns from Hammond to Waddington along the river have sustained the most damage in St. Lawrence County, where flooding has impacted camps, homes and shorelines.
“The survey will allow us to get better information on high water level impacts, understand the problems waterfront property owners are facing, and identify areas that are most vulnerable to high water levels,” according to the Cornel University website.
The college is asking people to share pictures and descriptions of properties along the river that have been impacted by the high water.
“Your participation in the survey is voluntary, but your response is very important to us. We would like to hear from anyone with property that is on the St. Lawrence River, even those who have not experienced impacts. Complete one survey per property,” the website says. “If you have multiple properties (for example, a business and a residence), complete one survey for each.”
