CANTON -- The Bert Rogers Memorial Fund was presented to Cornell Cooperative Extension of St. Lawrence County to help fund local students who wish to attend 4-H Camp Overlook.
The fund was established by St. Lawrence County 4-H Alumni under the leadership of the late Floyd Morter Jr., retired 4-H Agent and Extension Director.
The fund provides annual scholarships to St. Lawrence County residents to attend 4-H Camp Overlook. Bert Rogers, the funds namesake, was St. Lawrence County’s first 4-H agent and it was his hard work and dedication that co-founded 4-H Camp Overlook in 1945.
The camp program has stood the test of time, reaching 800 youth every summer and thousands of visiting school children annually.
