A break in the heat in the North Country could be on the way.

Warm and muggy conditions tonight into Thursday morning in St. Lawrence County will give way to a slow moving cold front later tomorrow into Friday, the National Weather Service predicts.

The front will bring rainfall to the region tomorrow afternoon into tomorrow night, along with cooler more seasonal temperatures. Some of the rain could be heavy at times.

A few isolated thunderstorms could pop up this afternoon and tonight. Lows tonight will be in the mid to upper 60s.

Clouds will thicken tomorrow, with an increasing chance of showers or thunderstorms and then scattered showers in the afternoon into the evening. Occasional showers, possibly heavy, are expected tomorrow night. Highs tomorrow are expected to be in the mid 80s, and lows tomorrow night should be in the low 60s.

The outlook for Friday is for showers early before the sky clears out for partly sunny skies and highs in the mid 70s.
