Cool and dry weather in St. Lawrence County to give way to possible rain, snow, freezing rain throughout week

Today cooler and drier weather will be felt across St. Lawrence County with unsettled weather returning during the week and milder temps expected be next weekend, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

Clouds will increase as the day goes on today with the high reaching about 42 degrees, NWS says.

Tonight will drop to around 19 with partly cloud skies and calm winds, the service says.

Rain and snow showers are possible Monday through Friday with freezing rain forecasted for Thursday morning.

Temps will will rise slowly through the week with daytime highs during the early part of the wee in the upper 30s and lower 40s by the end of the week, NWS says.

The forecast through next Saturday is as follows:

Monday

A slight chance of rain and snow showers between 2pm and 3pm, then a slight chance of rain showers after 3pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 37. Light north wind becoming northwest 6 to 11 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Monday Night

Partly cloudy, with a low around 18. Northwest wind 3 to 7 mph.

Tuesday

A 30 percent chance of light rain after 5pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 37. Light west wind becoming southwest 9 to 14 mph in the morning. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Tuesday Night

Rain and snow likely, becoming all snow after 10pm. Cloudy, with a low around 28. South wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Wednesday

A chance of snow showers before 1pm, then a chance of rain and snow showers between 1pm and 3pm, then a chance of rain showers after 3pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 38. North wind around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
