MADRID -- Construction of the approved addition to the original fire station in the Madrid Fire District is underway.
“After many months of planning, organizing, and complete the funding from the USDA has been finalized,” Fire Commissioner Chairperson Jim McCall said.
The successful bidder was Heritage Homes Incorporated of Massena.
“There will be some parking differences in the town as the project will consume most of the parking area next to the existing fire station that the fire district has owned for many years,” McCall said.
The addition is expected to take approximately 150 days to complete depending on weather conditions.
McCall asks that all residents be courteous and cautious during construction, as the space is limited.
