Republican congressional candidate Matt Doheny plans to meet with businesspeople in Canton and Potsdam Thursday.
Doheny, a Watertown businessman, is to be at Coakley Carpet One Ace Hardware on Gouverneur Street in Canton at 9:30 a.m. and at Clarkson University in Potsdam at 11:15 a.m.
A spokesman for the Doheny campaign said the meetings were not for the public, and said he did not want the events publicized.
The visits are part of Doheny’s announced “50 Businesses, 50 Days” effort as he seeks to unseat Plattsburgh Democrat Bill Owens in the 21st Congressional District contest on Election Day.
