MASSENA -- About 750 teachers will receive free meals from Tarbell Management Group this week as part of what the company calls “National Teacher Appreciation Week,” May 2 to 6.
They will deliver breakfast and lunch to instructors at J.W. Leary Junior High, Massena Central High School, Trinity Catholic and Madison, Nightengale and Jefferson elementaries.
The company will also serve meals to teachers at the St. Regis Mohawk, Akwesasne Freedom, Tsi Snaihne, Akwesasne Mohawk and Salmon River Elementary schools.
The food will come from TMG’s Tim Horton’s in Massena and Bear’s Den in Akwesasne.
“At Tarbell Management we appreciate all the hard work and effort of teachers,” TMG CEO Brandon Tarbell said. “We want to do this to say thank you to all the local teachers for their hard work that, frankly, is often overlooked.”
Tarbell said the idea to serve the meals came up at a recent company meeting.
“I am glad my staff came up with this idea and we plan on doing similar things in the future to recognize local teachers,” Tarbell said.
