GOUVERNEUR -- Community Health Center of the North Country has hired a new physician's assistant for its Gouverneur clinic.
Katherine Matthis graduated from St. Francis College’s Physician Assistant Program. She began her career in comprehensive family health care in rural southwestern Pennsylvania.
She returned to Northern New York in 1998, and has continued to provide services to residents throughout the North Country at family practices, the Edward-Knox School Based Clinic, and most recently at SUNY Potsdam’s Watkins Student Health Center.
Matthis is serving the pediatric population at 77 West Barney Street in Gouverneur and is accepting new patients. People may call 287-4440 for an appointment.
Community Health Center clinics, located in Gouverneur, Canton and Malone, are federally qualified clinics with a mission to provide comprehensive, accessible health and human services in the counties of northern New York and to offer services to people of all income levels with a special commitment to low income, medically underserved individuals, and people with disabilities.
