POTSDAM -- The “Community That Cares” blood drive, held Tuesday, July 16, exceed the original American Red Cross collection goal.
The original goal was to collect 46 units of blood. 58 units were collected, potentially helping to save up to 174 lives.
Prior to the blood drive volunteers made phone calls to schedule appointments and promote the blood drive within the Potsdam community.
Volunteers from the Red Cross and the Community Performance Series volunteered the day of the blood drive, assisting with registration and canteen.
The members of the Community Performance Series also donated a pair of theatre tickets for a grand prize raffle.
