POTSDAM – Several St. Lawrence County municipalities and organizations received a portion of the $40,000 St. Lawrence County Arts Council grants.
The Community Arts 2013 grant funding was distributed to recipients in Jefferson, Lewis, and St. Lawrence Counties for community arts programming.
St. Lawrence County recipients included the Town of Colton (Tourism & Beautification Committee), Town of Waddington & Waddington Redevelopment Association, What a Raquette Music and Dance & The Northern Lights Orchestra, Potsdam College Foundation, Inc. & Community Performance Series, DeKalb Historical Association, Gouverneur Reading Room Association, Morristown Gateway Museum and other North Country Players.
Also receiving funding were the Adirondack Mennonite Camping Association, WPBS-TV (St. Lawrence Valley Educational Television Council, Inc.), Arts Association of Northern New York (AANNY) and Clifton Fine Economic Development Corp., Arts Committee of
SLC Arts will be distributing an additional $12,500 directly to artists in Jefferson, Lewis, and St. Lawrence Counties later this year through Public Art Fellowships and the Teaching Artists’ Fund.
