COLTON — A Colton man was charged with having a loaded firearm in a vehicle following a traffic stop on State Highway 56 on Wednesday, according to St. Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies.
Eric R. Burns, 24, was charged with possession of a loaded firearm in a motor vehicle, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, uninspected motor vehicle and inadequate tail lights around 8:30 p.m.
Deputies said the inspection sticker on the vehicle he was driving had been altered.
DEC officers assisted at the scene and made the firearm arrest, troopers said.
Burns was cited and released on tickets returnable to Colton court at a later date.
