POTSDAM -- A Colton man was charged with driving while intoxicated after allegedly striking a tree while driving on the Hatch Road early Monday, according to St. Lawrence County sheriff's deputies.
Mark C. Lafreniere Jr., 30, was charged with DWI for allegedly having a blood-alcohol-content of .15 percent, officers said.
Deputies said they responded to the accident after receiving a report of a vehicle off the road. Officers said the vehicle had struck a tree and come to a stop off the roadway.
No injuries were reported.
Lafreniere was released on an appearance ticket and is to appear in Potsdam Village Court at a later date, officers said.
