Colton High Speed Internet Committee extends deadline for survey submissions

Posted

COLTON – The Town of Colton High Speed Internet Committee has extended the deadline for submission of responses to its survey.

The committee “is continuing its efforts to explore interest in obtaining broadband internet service for those permanent and seasonal residents, property owners and businesses that currently have no internet access or have only dial-up or satellite connections,” they said in a news release.

“We have extended the deadline because we want to hear from those who have not yet responded to our survey,” the committee statement said.

The committee has held several meetings with the CEO of SLIC Network Solutions, which they characterize as “very favorable,” and is working with representatives of the Empire State Development broadband program office. Responses must be returned no later than June 30.

Surveys may be obtained at the Town Clerk’s office.

The committee is also collecting letters of support for the grant application.
