A high-pressure system will build across the St. Lawrence Valley through the weekend bringing generally dry weather to the region with the next significant storm system set to arrive on Christmas Eve, according to the National Weather Service (TWS).
Today will be cold and cloudy with highs reaching the mid 20s and northwest winds around 10 mph, the service says.
The low temp for tonight will drop to around 15 degrees with cloudy skies, TWS says.
The weekend will likely see clear skies and temperatures in the 20s on Saturday and Sunday with overnight lows around 20 overnight.
The forecast for the rest of the week is as follows:
Saturday Partly sunny. Highs in the mid 20s. Light and variable winds.
Saturday Night Mostly cloudy. Lows 13 to 19. Light and variable winds.
Sunday Cloudy. Highs in the upper 20s. Light and variable winds.
Sunday Night Partly cloudy. Lows around 20.
Monday Mostly cloudy. Highs in the lower 30s.
Monday Night Mostly cloudy with a 40 percent chance of snow showers. Lows in the mid 20s.
Tuesday Cloudy with a chance of snow or rain showers. Highs in the upper 30s. Chance of precipitation 50 percent.
Tuesday Night Cloudy with a 50 percent chance of rain showers. Lows in the mid 30s.
