Cold and sunny in the St. Lawrence Valley; sub-zero wind chills predicted

It will remain cold in the St. Lawrence Valley with sub-zero wind chills today and tonight, with some sun today and a clear sky tonight.

The National Weather service says clouds will move in tomorrow, along with an increasing chance of snow Tuesday night and Wednesday before clearing again Wednesday night.

The NWS forecast for the St. Lawrence Valley and the northwestern Adirondacks:

Today: Mostly sunny, with a high near 16. Wind chill values as low as -5. South wind 6 to 15 mph becoming west in the morning.

• Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around -8. Wind chill values as low as -19. West wind around 5 mph becoming calm.

• Tuesday: Increasing clouds, with a high near 16. Wind chill values as low as -19. Southeast wind 5 to 9 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon.

• Tuesday Night: Light snow likely, mainly after 1am. Cloudy, with a low around 12. South wind 5 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.

• Wednesday: A 50 percent chance of light snow before 1pm. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 20. West wind around 7 mph. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.

• Wednesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around -9. Light and variable wind.

• Thursday: Partly sunny, with a high near 25. Northeast wind 3 to 6 mph.

• Thursday Night: A 50 percent chance of snow. Cloudy, with a low around 20. Northeast wind 3 to 5 mph.

• Friday: A 50 percent chance of snow. Cloudy, with a high near 28. East wind 5 to 7 mph becoming north in the afternoon.
