Healthcare and social services agencies are joining forces as a countywide anti-suicide group.
The SLC Suicide Awareness Coalition includes representatives from Hospice, New Hope Transformation Ministries, Reachout of St. Lawrence County, St. Lawrence Health Initiative, SUNY Potsdam and St. Lawrence NYSARC.
The coalition reports seven suicides in St. Lawrence County as of Aug. 31.
With Sept. 7 to 13 being the American Association of Suicidology’s Suicide Prevention Week, they group offers hotlines, outreach and events.
