CANTON — The Canton Central School Board of Education has approved appointments for several positions at the school including coaches, teachers and other staff.

The appointments took place at the Aug. 16 school board meeting.

• Thomas Van de Water was approved as an unpaid assistant modified cross-country coach for fall.

• Shannon Shannon was appointed as the modified cross-country coach with a stipend of $1,912.

• Catherine Carr was appointed as a long-term substitute for elementary teacher Morgan Hetu. Hetu is taking a medical leave of absence from June 18 to Nov. 20. Carr will be paid $118 per day for the first 10 days and $224 retroactive to the first 10 consecutive days.

• Deborah Smith was approved as a long-term substitute teacher for special education teacher Stephanie Lynch. Lynch will be on medical leave through Sept. 24. Smith will be paid $118 per day for the first 10 days and $224 retroactive to the first 10 consecutive days.

• Tiffany Todd was appointed as a cleaner (probationary), effective Aug. 27, at a prorated salary of $28,074.

• Jessica Christy, was appointed as a cleaner (probationary), effective Aug. 27, at a prorated salary of $28,074.

• Michael Frank was approved as a substitute bus driver, effective Sept. 4, at a rate of $18.25, pending final administrative approval.

• Kevin McCollum was appointed as a school bus monitor, effective Sept. 4, at a pay rate of $11.10, pending final administrative approval.
