POTSDAM – SUNY Potsdam assistant men's basketball coach Stan Cohen will be inducted into the New York State Basketball Hall of Fame during the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Basketball Tournament the weekend of March 14-16 in Glens Falls.
Cohen holds a coaching record of 691-423 that included nine NCAA East Regional Championships ('79-'83, '85'-'87, '89) and 10 SUNYAC Men's Basketball Championships ('74, '77-'80, '83, '86, '87, 2004-5).
His basketball experience goes beyond SUNY Potsdam with 16 seasons spent as the head men's basketball coach at SUNY Canton. He compiled a 247-143 record and seven additional seasons as the head women's basketball coach with 79-57 record.
For his efforts, Cohen is already an elected member of both the SUNY Canton and SUNY Potsdam Halls of Fame.
A graduate of Hobart College, Cohen served as co-captain of their 1955-56 men's basketball team. His team finished with the best win-loss percentage of any team in the history of Hobart basketball.
