St. Lawrence County residents will have to wait a while longer for warmer spring weather, according to the National Weather Service’s detailed forecast for the week.
The climate in the region under a prevailing cloud cover most of the week will include a wintry mix of 30 degree temperatures and chances of snow in between some slightly warmer days and rain.
Today will feature some sun, however, with a high near 37 degrees, said the weather service, giving way to a mostly cloudy night and lows around 22.
More clouds are expected Sunday with a high near 35. The skies are expected to clear later on in the evening, with the low temperature reaching 17 degrees.
Monday is expected to be mostly sunny, a rare condition over the next few days according to the National Weather Service. Highs Monday will climb near 40 degrees. Clouds will roll in again overnight and the temperature will drop back down to 25 degrees.
North Country residents can expect little chance of sunburn Tuesday as more clouds protect the region from too much sunshine once more. High temperatures that day are predicted to be near 45 degrees.
Tuesday night will be mostly cloudy with lows near 28.
Finally sunny conditions might prevail Wednesday, said the weather service. The high temperature will be around 46, forecasters say.
Wednesday night will have a 30 percent change of rain before 11 p.m., switching to a chance of snow throughout the evening and into the early morning. The low will be around 32.
Rain and snow are possible again Thursday, with a 50 percent chance of precipitation predicted under cloudy skies. The air will be warmer with a high near 46.
Thursday night will be mostly cloudy again with a low near 28.
Sunny skies are predicted for Friday with highs near 46, possibly a meteorological harbinger of spring.
