Clifton and Morristown are receiving a total of nearly $6 million in grants and no-interest loans for improvements to their wastewater systems.
Officially approved today were more than $450 million for water projects around the state.
The Town of Clifton will receive $2 million grant and $667,000 in a no-interest loan to build a new wastewater collection and treatment system.
The Town of Morristown is to get a $1,062,697 interest-free loan to create a sewer collection system to replace septic systems along the St. Lawrence River.
“Clean water systems contribute significantly to the overall health of a community and provide the infrastructure necessary for job growth and commercial development,” said Gov. Andrew Cuomo, whose office announced the funding.
