STAR LAKE -- The first annual Clifton-Fine Community Fund Grant Awards were held Sept. 8 at the Adirondack Exhibit Center.
The Clifton-Fine Community Fund was established by a matching grant challenge issued by the Northern New York Community Foundation (NNYCF).
The challenge, which would run for one year and would match dollar-for-dollar up to $50,000 to permanently establish the fund.
In three months, the community was able to raise a total of $164,000.
The fund will be used annually for community improvement projects, which increase the quality of life to all who call C-F home, and for future generations to come.
